Thanksgiving and the count down to Christmas!

Kevin's parents came to visit us over the Thanksgiving holiday! They also brought the kids their Christmas presents!!! I cooked my first turkey! We had a huge meal, yum! We also did some Black Friday shopping. We had so much fun, we even stayed up one right past 3am playing Rook! (for a video on this visit use the link below for youtube)
I even started a new family tradition for us Huff's! We are going to start reading the Book of Mormon on Thanksgiving day and finishing it on Christmas day! I am very excited about this as it will insure that we read the Book of Mormon at least once a year. The other thing we did for Thanksgiving, to help teach the kids about being thankful, was we made a thankful branch. We each wrote things we were thankful for on these paper leaves I cut out and then we hung them on a branch that we then attached to the wall! Lathen was thankful for things like his sister, swords, Joe Joe, Jesus, Moroni, grandparents and the Williams family. Kiera was thankful for her brother, mommy and daddy, blocks and chocolate pudding! Kevin and I found that we were both thankful for each other, our children, our Savior, the scriptures (especially Heleman 5:12 for Kevin and D&C 58:3-4 for me). I was also thankful for family, warm rains, and sunshine that feels like a warm blanket! And the list goes on...
And so the count down to Christmas begins...
