Lost thoughts

I had some thoughts I wanted to post about when I got home from my brother-in-laws wedding reception, but I never got around to it and then it got forgotten about for a while. So today I thought about them again and figured I better come post them before I forget, again.

A few things occurred to me as I was in the airport this last time. (As a side note I must say that flying solo, meaning without a 4 year old and 2 year old, is quite boring in comparison.) Anyway, so as I'm waiting for my flight I'm enjoying some people watching and taking note of the interesting happenings of the airport that I don't normally see when chasing said "year olds" around. One thing that got my attention of course is the constant intercom announcements. My favorite is the one about not leaving your things unattended and not taking carry on items from strangers. I couldn't help but think "Are we really that stupid that they have to continue to tell us that over and over?" But then I saw the nice lady down the row put her things down and ask the foreign man on a laptop to please watch her stuff while she ran to the bathroom...um thanks to you lady we all have to be told how to keep up with our stuff in the airport.

My next favorite observation was once I was on the plane. As we are taxing the flight attendants give their instructions that no one is listening to. Only right before we can start taxing they check to make sure everyone has their set upright, tray stowed and seat belts fastened. It is only after this check that they tell us HOW to buckle our seat belts during our taxing time...seem odd to you that they would tell you how to buckle AFTER they check to see that everyone is buckled?

On my way home I got to fly first class! Wow, what a difference. Anyway I couldn't help but notice that when you sit first class and you board first then you sit there while everyone in coach walks by you and gives you dirty looks. Also I didn't know that while everyone else is boarding, first class is being served drink! Are you kidding me?! I of course must have seemed out of place to everyone there as I asked for water and the next 5 people all ordered bloody mary's. I mean it was noon for crying out loud and everyone else in first class was getting blistered!

Anyway just a few airport thoughts I had.

Funny. I can't imagine how nice it would be to travel without kids.... ahh... peace. And first class to boot! Very nice. I love that you got dirty looks from the coach passengers - hilarious because it's so true!
