The Beach and the Fourth of July!

I left with my parents on Monday after Kieralee's dance recital and we drove to Myrtle Beach, SC. We stayed at my grandma's beach house. It was a lot of fun. Lathen hadn't been to the beach since he was 1 and Kieralee had never been (well when she was 8 months and Lathen was 2 we drove to New Port Beach, CA in December and in the dark of night stuck our feet in the water to say that we had been in the Pacific Ocean, but I don't count that as a beach trip). The weather was perfect and we had a fantastic time. My brother and his family joined us to add to the fun. The only down side...no Kevin.

The kids loved running in the waves.

Lathen who can't swim by himself yet and usually tends to be nervous in water took to the ocean like he was a regular pro. He would go under, he would go out far, he would take waves, he would ride waves...it was pretty awesome!

A favorite of the kids was taking rides in the golf cart.

The hammock was another favorite!

For the Fourth of July we sat on the beach and watched the fireworks get shot off the pier!

Lathen and my Grandma!

Kieralee was so exhausted that 10 minutes into the fireworks she climbed into my lap said she was tired and fell asleep. She slept through the rest of the fireworks and the walk home!

Wow, maybe i'm all emotional right now, or maybe it's our current state of family experiences, but looking at these gorgeous, fun pics, combined with the song that was playing on your blog, and thinking abuot Kevin missing out on this 4th of july trip with y'all...I almost cried!
We miss you guys! :)
