First Dance Recital

Kieralee had her very first dance recital Saturday June 27th.

Dress rehearsal had me very worried for the big day. Kieralee completely shut down and refused to do anything but scream and cry. I couldn't help but think, "Oh great, my parents are going to drive 18 hours to watch this girl refuse to even get on stage."

Saturday, the day of wasn't looking good either. She refused to go down for her nap. Then she finally fell asleep, but we had to wake her up so she could get ready (so she didn't get enough sleep). She cried while I put her hair up and I just thought the worst was to come. Boy was I wrong!

We got to the school where the recital was being held and Kieralee was in a great mood. She loved having lipstick put on her and she was eating every minute of attention up. I stayed backstage with her until she was the next class to go on stage. I was worried she wouldn't let me leave her, but I told her I had to go out front to get ready to take her picture and she said, "Ok Mommy, love you, bye. I'm going on stage!" And on stage she went! It was so incredibly adorable.

After Kieralee was done and got off stage she run up and hugged me and exclaimed "I did good Mom!" She loved the applause and kept asking when she could go on stage again.

And then the icing on the cake was the Daddy-daughter dance. At first Kieralee told Kevin that boys don't dance and so they couldn't do the dance together, but after their rehearsal she was so excited to do it!
