Kevin and I have had the privilege to live in four different states from our home state of North Carolina to Virginia to Utah and Texas. We have loved each state for different reasons. We feel that we have left a piece of ourselves everywhere we have lived just as each place has a place in our hearts. But there is just something about these Appalachian mountains that speak to my soul. It's that old familiar beauty that still takes my breath away. I am grateful that we get the opportunity to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway just about every time we go somewhere. The kids and I never fail to look over the overviews and talk about the beauty God has created (even if it is at a high speed because we are late)!
One evening I couldn't help but stop and take a picture. I realized that I was taking for granted the views we see so often, as if we will always be able to pass by this often. I needed to document the scenery, both of the view beyond and of the three precious little ones that call me Mom.
