A picture is worth a thousand words

At one point in my growing up years I wanted to be a writer.  I think many people go through a phase like that.  I would still love to be a writer, but I feel as though I lack the skill required.  I believe I could work hard and gain the skill but right now every extra time I have I am investing it in my children.  And I am ok with that.  I have found a perfect substitute, pictures.  I absolutely love to take pictures.  I have more pictures than I can even remember taking and I have the hardest time deleting them.  Even the pictures that don't turn out that great, I hold on to them.

So, to all those blogs out there that write those wonderful posts I love to read, thank you.  As for my blog, you will have to endure my plethora of pictures.

We have been super busy lately.  Kevin is working two jobs and going to school full time.  We hardly see him, but we know that his sacrifice as well as ours is worth it.  We are extremely proud of him.  The kids and I have been dutifully engaged in homeschool.  When we aren't assiduously working on school work we are on the road.  Twice a week we head down the mountain for Kieralee to get three allergy shots.

(Oh, I think I forgot to blog about that.  Yes, Kieralee is allergic to everything.  As the allergist said, "Well, the good news is there isn't anything else for her to become allergic to."  So, she started allergy shots and during the 'build up' phase she has to go twice a week.  At first it was hell.  I won't even candy coat it for you.  She would scream, cry, kick, bite and say really mean things.  Once the shots were over she would curl up in my lap and need all the love I could give.  Then two months into it the nurse mentions she could have the doctor prescribe a cream that would numb her arms.  "Um, that would have been nice to know WEEKS ago!"  Now it's a breeze.  She walks back there gets her shots and smiles the entire time.)

We try to stick some fun into our lives.  Even if that means going outside to read for school so we can take breaks and jump on the trampoline.  Or talk about science while digging in the sand box!

The kids love to 'teach' Heath

Lathen and Kieralee, after getting their work done headed off for an adventure!

The kids getting their work done!

(If the old saying is true that a picture is worth a thousand words, then I guess I am quite the novelist!)
