A green hill far away

Each night I take the kids one at a time and rock them in our black rocking-chair and tell them they can pick one song for me to sing to them. Lathen picks different songs but Kieralee always picks the same one. She always asks me to sing Nearer My God to Thee. She is so particular about me singing this song to her that she will NOT let Kevin sing it to her (it's really rather funny). So on the rare occasion that I am gone for the evening and he has to put them in bed or when he tries to love on her before she gets rocked, he'll ask what song she wants him to sing and she always picks There Is a Green Hill Far Away. I noticed the other day that she was singing and on closer attention to her I realized she was singing There Is a Green Hill Far Away. It was so cute that I had to video it. The actual words go as follows:

There is a green hill far away, Without a city wall,
Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all.
We may not know, we cannot tell, What pains he had to bear,
But we believe it was for us He hung and suffered there.
There was no other good enough To pay the price of sin.
He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in.
Oh, dearly, dearly has he loved! And we must love him too,
And trust in his redeeming blood, And try his works to do.

Here are Kieralee's renditions:

That is the cutest thing ever!! I can't get my little girl to sing church songs. She is a writer at heart and always makes up her own songs. Keira is such a doll and Joshua and I both agree that she is really starting to look like her Daddy!
