A flicker

I never knew a flicker could do so much.

It has been a long journey for our family in trying to get a third child here. It all started with a pregnancy in 2007. At 14 weeks I had to have surgery to remove the pregnancy because the baby had not survived. We were determined not to get down and with the ok of our doctor we started trying again. A year passed and nothing. More time passed, still nothing. I can honestly say it has been one of the hardest trials we have ever faced. It brought an entirely new meaning to "long-suffering."

But alas, it seems our faith and prayers have not been in vain (and why would they with a loving Heavenly Father?). We had a positive pregnancy test followed a few weeks later with an ultrasound. The ultrasound is what really brought a complete feeling of peace for me. The last time we had an ultrasound it was to only see that our baby didn't make it, but this time, this time was different!!! We not only got to see our little dot of a baby, but we got to see the flickering of it's tiny little heart! Oh the joy!!!

So even though we aren't very far along (about 8 weeks) we feel good and are excited to share our news! We should have baby #3 here by Feb. 17th!

Yeah Joni! Congrats to you and Kevin! I know exactly what it is like to have to wait and wait and then fear you won't see that little heart beating! Those 2-3 weeks or so feel like an eternity! So, so happy for you! We'll keep you and the new baby in our prayers!
