Fairies, donations and tithing

After Lathen's nail fell off he looked up at me, smiled and said, "Now the nail fairy can come visit me!" Nail fairy??? What the heck is a nail fairy. Smart kid, milking his parents for stuff over a lost nail and it worked! He went to bed that night with his nail under his pillow and the nail fairy left him 50 cents. Which he happily deposited in his bank.

After a week of fighting with the kids to clean up their toys, Kevin came home frustrated with the mess and bagged all the toys. They sat in the garage for another week. This past Saturday we brought all the toys in and had the kids sort through them and pull out toys they were ready to donate to another boy or girl that could then enjoy the toy. Funny story about that: I held up a toy for Kieralee and asked her, "Keep it or donate?" She responded, "Keep it and a doughnut" We then went over what donate means and it had nothing to do with doughnuts! Because the kids did so much work cleaning up and were willing to part with a lot of their toys we paid them each a dollar.

Since both kids earned a dollar on Saturday they had their first chance to pay tithing. So Sunday at church Kevin helped the kids fill out their tithing slip and had them give it to the bishopric. They were so stinking cute doing it!!!
