Working my green thumb

Saturday the family got together to work on our family garden. Yes, three families share one very large garden and we love it. We planted 14 rows of corn, 3 rows of potatoes, 2 rows of green beans, 2 plum trees, grapes and asparagus. That doesn't count the strawberries, blueberries and a few other things we already planted and we aren't done yet!

This garden party included tilling up the garden, making rows and planting. It was a lot of work, but it was fun. Even the kids helped out. Lathen kept complaining that it was "taking too long" but he worked hard. Kieralee learned how to plant corn, "Poke, cover, pat" meaning you poke a hole for the seed, cover it with dirt and then pat the dirt down. Heath, well he just slept in my wrap.

Can't wait to eat food fresh from the garden!

I really did "LOL" when I saw Kieralee with the NRA hat on. Teach them while in their youth! (I mean, am totally pro-gun rights just to clarify)
