Six

Two weeks ago I stepped on the scale and it read 150 lbs.  I promised myself that I would never weigh more than 150 lbs while un-pregnant.  Well, I'm not pregnant so seeing 150 lbs is a problem.  I cut back on some of my eating and last Friday the scale read 146.2, which is what it had read for about a week.  That was a turning point. I realized that that Friday was 27th of August and it was Heath's six month mark.  Yes, my baby is six months old.  I decided I wanted to commit to getting my appetite in check and lose some weight.  I'd call it baby weight, but not long after Heath was born I was back down to what I weighed when I got pregnant.  Only problem with that is that I was over weight when I got pregnant.  Anyway, I started cutting back, WAY back.  I am taking a zig zag approach to counting my calories.  I'm down to 144 lbs.  That's 2.2 lbs in 5 days.  A total of six pounds so far.  (And I am hungry!)  It comes down to this, do I like eating more than I want a fit body (one that I feel comfortable in) or do I want the healthy fit body more than I like eating?!  It's a mental battle but so far the hot body I want is winning :)

Heath is six months.  Wow, that's crazy.  He is such a fun baby.  He has a smile ready all the time, he is starting to jabber, he can roll over both ways and he can sit up.  He goes next week to the doctor so I'll post stats then.

Lathen had his six year well check-up.  I still have to remind myself that I have a six year old.  I sometimes slip up and call Heath 'baby Lathen.'  Anyway, Lathen's appointment went well and he passed as a healthy boy.  Here are his stats:
Height: 3 ft 11.5 inches  (somewhere around 75%)
Weight: 50 lbs (somewhere around 75%)

I should mention that his weight included his clothes, shoes and a hot wheels car stowed in his pocket!
(Wonder why they didn't have him remove his shoes, especially since they had him take them off right after getting weighed to get his height?)

Lathen,
You are the greatest six year old I know.  Even though I am biased because I am your mother, you are a great kid.  You handle your roll as first born with great stride. I appreciate your help, your smile and your laugh.  You defiantly make being a mother a joy.  Kieralee and Heath are lucky to have you as their big brother and I am glad they look up to you.  You are smart, clever and funny.  You are an adventurer.  You have a special gift of kindness and an ability to read people.  I pray you will always reach out to help others just as the Saviour would.  I pray you continue to be healthy and happy. And that you never lose your curiosity.  May you always remember that happiness if found in following the Saviour's path.
Love,
Mom

Good for you! I did the Special K diet and have pretty much kept up with it with a few changes. Once my body adjusted to not having too much food, we started P90X and that is amazing!

I've found honesty with myself to be the best "diet" yet. Good luck in your quest. And just remember, your weight is in no way tied to your worth.
BTW, Andrea still pipes up whenever we drive "close to where Lathen used to live."
Miss you guys.
