What happens when mom is sick?!

While laying sick on the couch the kids went outside to play. They were so happy outside and I felt so bad that I just let them stay out as long as they wanted. I guess they stayed out long enough to wonder into some messes?!

I really don't think that mom's should have to get sick. I mean really. It's not like we have kids to take care of or a house to try and keep clean or laundry to do or meals to make or errands to run. What's the idea with letting the mom get sick? Let the kids run wild? Let the house get completely wrecked? Let all meals become snacks that a four year old can reach while standing on the counter? Let the laundry become a mountain big enough to climb? Because it's not like you can take a sick day. The kids don't just not show up in the morning. And then you can't take the really good medicines, you know the ones that knock you out and you don't wake up until you are better. I think they would consider that neglect and that is frowned upon in our culture. So yes I laid on the couch feeling like if I was a dog they would have shot me and put me out of my misery already and my kids had their way with the house. All I can tell you is if it was war between the kids and the house, the house never had a chance. Kids 1 House 0

I have to admit that I am one of the lucky ones. I have a husband that I can count on. He did dishes, he cooked, he even took over putting the kids to bed at night. Too bad I can't hire him full time. Something about I can't afford him?! Like his regular job is important to our financial survival??? I don't see what his point is, really.
