Bizarrely grateful

By Saturday morning the only symptoms I had was a scratchy throat and a snotty nose and I was grateful. Seems like a bizarre thing to be thankful for but when it could have been a lot worse, I'll take it. I actually felt pretty good Saturday. I mean the extra mucus is annoying but other than that I felt good! I think the beautiful weather we had on Saturday was a huge boost in my morale. The weather was so gorgeous you couldn't keep our family indoors.

First we made a quick trip to the store. The kids have been saving up their money for 2 months now and were really wanting to spend it. So we took them and they each bought a toy with their money. Lathen got a dinosaur race track and Kieralee got a little mini spa kit. They loved scanning their toys at the self-checkout and then putting their money in the cash slots. It was a lot of fun as a parent to watch :)

Then when we got home we played in the front yard while Kevin mowed. Then we got the itch for a family bike ride. We went around the block but it wasn't enough. So we loaded the bikes up and headed over to the green way to ride around. It was a blast! Lathen rode his bike which is down to one training wheel! And Kieralee rode in her seat on Kevin's bike. We even stopped at the playground for a bit. It was a perfect Saturday if you ask me.
