Dear Erin,

I've noticed some references you have made about your new home being cold and how part of you just might be missing Texas. Well, I decided that I would dedicate this post to you for just that reason. I took this picture today...

Now, I know what you are thinking. Surely this is from September and I am just saying I took it today. I know that is largely do to the fact that all the leaves have not yet been raked up in my backyard, but alas I promise I took this picture today. I had to bring Lathen inside to change him into shorts because he was too hot and while inside I checked weather.com and found that it was a warm 72 degrees out. Our poor dog who just beefed up her winter coat with a two week stay in the cold NC mountains has to just sit there and pant! When Lathen continued to complain that he was hot I told him to think of the freezing people we know personally that are suffering in blizzards and such. I told him to think of Erin and her poor family who think that the frozen foods section is warm! I want you to know that I know that in the far reaches of this great nation you are experience extremely bitter cold weather and I want to tell you from this Texo-American thank you for taking one for the team! So keep that snow up there with you and know that we are thinking about you!
