The Unthinkable!

Like most parents, Kevin and I haven't enjoyed a night away from our kids since we had them. We love our kids, but sometimes you just need some couple time. Well, we decided that since we had grandparents at our disposal that we would take such an opportunity and get away! So we headed out the Monday after Christmas to the town we lived in when we first got married. We ate at our favorite restaurants including the restaurant we ate at our first night as a married couple. Each time we sat down to eat we couldn't help but realize how quiet and non-stressful it was. At first we had a hard time thinking of what to talk about. Usually our table talk involves whatever the children want to talk about to talking to the children about how to behave. But in the end we began talking and completely enjoyed the completely adult conversations we were able to have! We stayed at a hotel and enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep without the worry of being woken up by a child :) Ah, it was wonderful! To get to this lovely town we took the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was a beautiful drive. Here are some pictures from our drive!
