I finally get it. It took having a third child to get it, but I get it. What you ask? I understand now how quickly the newborn stage goes by, faster than the blink of an eye. And it is already happening with Heath, he is getting big. He is 7.5 weeks old and he is topping the scale at around 15 lbs. and he is over 2 ft. long. If that isn't evidence enough of his rapid growth from little newborn to chubby baby, check these out:
Exhibit A: The chub roll in the armpit
Exhibit B: Yummy thigh rolls
Exhibit C: Arm pudginess
Heath is also really starting to respond to attention. He and I enjoy some good conversations where we both do a lot of smiling. I think that baby smiles have to be one of the sweetest expressions ever. I love them! And I happen to think that Heath has one of the best baby smiles (yes that is the biased opinion of his mother, but I am entitled to my opinion!).
A few more pictures for your viewing pleasure. First is of Heath sleeping on my legs. I just thought he looked comfortable. The next two are of myself the night I made New York style cheesecake. Heath LOVES riding in my Storchenwiege.
I have to say that I love my Strochenwiege, but I really want one of these now.

couldn't you just tie him to your back with the thing that you have?
He is delicious and I can't wait to get my hands on him! ONE MORE WEEK! :)
At the rate he's growing, he'll catch up to Joshua in no time... He'll be 8 months in 10 days and is about 20 pounds.
Oh wow! He's already passed Tate. Little Tate is 9 months and 12.5 lbs. Heath is so darling. I bet your older two are just loving him.
Cute!! I'm impressed that you made cheesecake :)
Oh Joni...my heart aches. He is changing so fast and has already passed Maggie by the wayside.
That is one darling baby! He looks just like his pretty Mama!
