Last Tuesday we had a thunderstorm roll through and it was a welcomed relief from the hot sticky air we have been living with. I was so excited I took a picture of the rain hitting our patio in the backyard (just in case I forget what rain looks like). As I checked the weather this morning at 9am it said current temp. 89 feels like 92, my heart sank. I'm so sick of sweating and being miserably hot. Then I noticed a tropical storm off the coast of South Texas and thought, "Ooh maybe we'll get some rain!" Now all I need to do is go outside and tell our poor lawn "Hold on, rain just might be on it's way!"

Some rain would be nice, yes, but I'm hoping the real storm never hits you. Those things can be brutal, as you well know.

I was just realizing yesterday that our rainy season this year was very short! Boo--we need more rain! I hope this extreme heat doesn't last til November!!
